Launchpad: The Weekly Flight Summary

Before we dive into the technical achievments of the last two weeks, let’s get a bigger picture of the most outstanding moments that happened.

npmx repo hits 2k stars

Within a month after its first commit, the npmx repository hits the next big milestone: 2,000 stars. Coincidentally, this milestone happened on my birthday, which surely was already written in the stars more than 2,000 years ago - pun(s) intended. And the growth just keeps improving. At the time you read this, the project as already surpassed the next 200 stars.

We were on a holiday together

The whole npmx community has been touching grass or snow for a whole week. The Discord was closed duing the period of 14 to 21 Feburary and people were sharing awesome pictures of nature, emphasizing the importance of taking some rest in open source communities.

After our holiday, all the lovely people - and with them the flood of contributions - came back and are currently preparing the official public launch on March 3rd.

Join the npmx.social PDS

Bailey Townsend 🦀

I've been helping a lot with @npmx.dev lately. Part of that is setting up a PDS for new to the atmosphere users have a frictionless way to create an account with the .npmx.social ending and join in on npmx's social features. In 10 days we have - 108 active accounts - 92ish are new accounts for npmx

Shows 108 profile pictures of user son the npmx.social PDS. Most are the npmx logo since they are just npmx users and don't have bluesky profile pics

Bailey Townsend’s PDS Moover tool is making waves by simplifying Bluesky migrations to the npmx.social PDS. By streamlining the technical hurdles of moving accounts, Townsend has provided a vital bridge for users looking to transition their data to this EU-hosted server while staying perfectly synced with the Bluesky network.

As an honour to Bailey’s valueable help, they get to show us their wisdom with this wonderful quote:

npmx is the friends we made along the way
